Eyelashes!

I was in Boots the other day and saw that eyelashes were all buy one get one half price... So, obviously I felt inclined to pick up a few new pairs... I figured seeing as I'm starting uni soon I'd need some new ones for freshers and nights out.. Definitely a uni essential, right? ;)

Anyway, I started off by picking up two pairs from The Vintage Cosmetic Company, which I've never heard of before but hey, there packaging is gorgeous right? They only have (I believe) four different designs, and each one is called a cutesy old fashioned girls name, I thought that was a nice touch. I ended up choosing Nancy and Betty. The Nancy's look like a nice basic lengthening and thickening pair, and the Betty's look like they'll give a nice cat eye effect.

Next up I decided to try a pair of the Katy Perry Colour Pop lashes. Now these excited me probably more than they should. Each different pair has the same design, but has a mixture of black and coloured lashes, designed to make your eyes 'pop'. They come in green (ka-ching), blue (ka-boom) and purple (ka-pow), I chose the purple ones to make my green eyes stand out. I'm not going to lie, these are the ones I'm just itching to try out.

Last off I just picked up a pair of the Eyelure Naturalites in 080, as they're nice for adding some length and volume without looking too over-done for a more low-key outing.

I'll be doing reviews on these just as soon as I've had a chance to wear them, so keep an eye (excuse the pun) out for those if you're interested!

What are your favourite fake lashes?

Bye for now, Shannon xoxo

Maybelline Master Duo (thick to thin) Liner Review

So I picked up the new Maybelline Master Duo on a whim the other day when I was in Boots - I don't really need another liquid liner, but I've been so intrigued at how it changes from thick to thin I just had to see for myself. The advert makes it look so... Magic. In reality the brush is just oval shaped, so if you hold it one way it's thin; or just rotate it 90 degrees for a slightly thicker line.

The brush itself is a felt tip-type liner, which tend to be the type I prefer. However, I do feel like the 'thin' version of the brush isn't all that thin. It's ok for simply lining your eyes, but for any fancy flicks or cat eyes, this is not the liner I'd use.

On to the actual product itself. It claims to give an ultra glossy finish, be waterproof and give 24 hour wear - all of which I agree with. I applied it in the morning and by the time I got back from work at 11pm it hadn't budged. I decided to leave it on while I slept to see if it still  held up - it did. It even stayed put when I was putting my contacts in the next morning (for anyone that doesn't wear contacts, putting them in tends to make your eyes water and mess up any eye make up you've already applied).

However, the actual product is very watery and, in my opinion, quite awkward to apply. It seeps down into your lashes and trying to draw any super thin precise lines is hard as you get a sort of 'water droplet' of product at the end of the line you've just draw, due to it being quite watery and needing a fair amount of product to get an intense black colour.

Over all the product isn't terrible for £5.29. I will find a use for it as the lasting power on it is so good, but it definitely isn't a 'slap on and go' liner - you do have to spend a little more time and effort when applying it to make it look right. I don't see this being a product I will be repurchasing, and wouldn't recommend it for any liquid liner novices as it is quite awkward to use.

All in all this is a 'so-so' product in my eyes.

Have any of you tried out this liner? If you have let me know what you think :)
